#EveryLittleActionCounts Week 24: Follow your passions!
This week is a call to follow your passions! Being passionate about what we are doing is critical for finding meaning and purpose in our academic profession. By following our passions, we can foster a deep connection with our endeavours and thus inspire and empower others.
“Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”
– Oprah Winfrey
We can become more passionate about what we are doing by:
- Listening to our heart and soul: Find time to reflect on what matters most to you and create self-awareness of the extent to which you follow your passions.
- Trying out and integrating new things: If you don’t know your passions, make a list of new things, try them out and capture your experiences in a journal.
- Being resilient – never giving up: Following your passions is not always an easy task, it requires you to keep going even then when you feel alone and different.
We wish everyone in academia a very happy and positive new academic year. Let’s make a difference together!
